I don't trust the Britek 650watts, they have slowly melted the insides of mine, and the outside its cracking apart

Lowel lights last forever. They are a good value new or used. Don't be afraid to buy used lights because new lights will be used soon enough too.

It really all depends on what you're needing your lights for. Open face lights of any kind are a lot harder to control in tight spaces. I would be apt to go with Lowel over Britek though having owned both.

Another option is to look around and try to piece-meal a kit together. You'll want at least one fresnel in there.
