What are you listening to now ?

The song from the end of the film LION (2016).
(I'm not one for posting pop songs but 'that voice'->)

Sia - Never Give Up (Official Video)

Drunk post I guess but if we're hanging out tonight: :)
I always thought Charli(Oh yeah, dvx board name: Chuck.G.Writer) had an amzing speaking voice and that she should try doing
something with it. She did try one voice over but I think she had to have the right 'part' for her to 'fit'. She always took her
voice for granted and had no interest in persuing that end of it. She liked writing. She had something in her voice and the way
she spoke that I found very uncommon: Very happy/energetic sounding, entertaining and dynamic audibly.

:) -Cheers. :)

I don't have a song post right now. Just trying to get through the fn day like everyone else. hahaha. Maybe in a bit. :)

I was looking for something on YT by Terry Post from the Post Family fame in Canada here. He's a pretty decent Blues guitar player. He filled in for our guitar player for the weekend once years ago and yeah, he knew his stuff, (I didn't know blues myself). I can't find one of him 'yet' on YT (YT has so many bands with similar names that=sheesh.) The Post Family up here is legendary. -Chatting.

From the YT post below: "Charley Pride, whose rich baritone voice and impeccable song-sense altered American culture, died Saturday, December 12,
2020, in Dallas, Texas of complications from the latest pandemic sickness at age 86."

//Oh, I overheard this girl in the bar today kinda yelling to someone as a joke "Don't speak when your talking to me! Don't speak when your talking to me!" Something about that line and the way she said it just cracked me up out loud. You had to be there. :)

-Just checking this out right now.
CHARLEY PRIDE - LIVE IN CANADA!

//From the above vid. Cracking me up right now:
Charley Pride - I Don't Think She's In Love Anymore
Am I in trouble yet? hahaha.

You do know that posting here with a zero post count makes you look like a 'bot'. I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.
If it's that important, for whatever reason, then let's have a listen. Otherwise, hang out for a bit and...:)

This was sponsored by a Russia's state own corporation (and is, in fact, on their own YouTube page). But it really came out well. 500 different musicians in 21 different cities, 4 months of shooting, 120 hours of video recorded. All for a classic Soviet era cartoon tune.

Beer posting works for me when 'opening up' sometimes. :)->

Kind of weird to me at the moment. Let me explain.
1/ I'm not familiar with Russian music which I think I mentioned to you when I first saw you posting in this thread..
2/ I can now hear and understand the rhythm patterns in those vids anyways...actually kind of universal patterns I guess.

The vocal patterns and associated melodies, I'm still not familiar with yet. A matter of time because I remind myself that it took me 3 years to understand and actually like and appreciate Punjabi music. (That was the most challenging for me personally but now I like to listen to it when it comes up and kinda know what I like and don't like.) I'll probably never understand the Russian lyrics but the melodies and musical end of it, that's kinda starting to be a yes. I'm still at the root level right now. Anyways, I really do appreciate the exposure to and education of this music. -:)

Most people on this site aren't familiar with the Soviet/Russian music. Which is one of the main reasons I post it. But, aside of being unfamiliar, a lot of it is pretty similar to either the jazz era/ Broadway standards (Berlin, Gershwin, Porter, Arlen, Rodgers, et al., most of whom had Yiddish roots), others are based on the 1950's-60's rock-n-roll rhythms. The top clip was from a TV cartoon series based on the Brothers Grimm story "The town musicians of Bremen" (Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten, itself a German fairy tale) and was deemed so "rock-n-roll" that it was banned from the Soviet TV and radio, despite being incredibly popular.

Here's the original version of the top song.

And this is a statue of the Bremen town musicians. In Bremen.

Was actually 'watching' the documentary "Rush. The Rise of Kings."
My guest woke up and sais "Can you put on a movie?" which I did and she promptly fell back asleep again.(Had a hard day.)
Music wakes me up too...after a few.

And R.I.P Eddie Van Halen. Passed in October. I did know that...right? Neil Peart from Rush also passed this year.

A couple Classics (while she's still sleeping then;)):

Rush - Fly By Night (Official Music Video)

Van Halen - Eruption and You Really Got Me (Live 2015)

In all fairness: (and psst, she woke up again...;))
