What are you listening to now ?

That old Hohner Clavinet sound (7:12)...so...Funk.Timeless. And the Chuck-A-Wha pedal(sp?)? Remember those? And she's playing a Rhodes(? it's been awhile!!! Front end looks the same. Not the sound.Damn I be gettin' ollllllllld hahahaha. :)
And I'd like to think that's a B3 (13:05 and others) in there as well. Man...-Cheers.

Well f' me sideways and give me a cigarette (jk). Damn that was good.

//watching again. Love it. The bass: I hesitate to ask hahaha if that's a Ricki (Richenbacher.) Buddy used to play the 4001 around 1977. This guys bass has the same general body shape and "sound", but being 40 years later...who knows...anyways. Am I right? :) Geddy Lee used to use one also in the early days because of the "high end" in the sound. He said it helped "fill in the sound" because they were only a 3-piece band. Well let me give you an example next post. heehee.

// RIP John Prine.

Поющие Гитары (The Singing Guitars) are billing themselves are the "first Soviet rock band" (or VIA, as they were called then). Here's a live show from 2016, going through their most famous songs of the late 1960's-1970's.

Hugh Sully is a lifelong friend and former bandmate of mine from grade 9. Before that I played accordian bass(a senior then) for the junior accordian band he was in.
When we met again in high school we ended up forming a rock band together. A lot of memories there.
Hugh writes and plays moreso when his very successful seasonal business is on break.
A few from his new album Canadiana. :)

This may not be a Broadway staging or a Broadway cast but it's not that wretched movie either. I find this quite charming.

I edited out my former link for personal beer reasons...anyways -Gold in my day->

I'll try it again without the 'fake' one I got sucked into before...[and even now the 'editing' appears slanted (negatively)...fk me...I'm just trying to have a f'n beer. Can everyone just fóff for 2 seconds please? Jeeeze.] Just me gettin pissed again I guess...and I didn't get banned here for my opinion like I have been from every other site on the web. :) -Beers? hahahah.

That's the spirit: :)

//Crazy stuff. Btw he's back doing (2019 anyways) 60 shows/year again.

Hey Razz16mm. That link was asking me to log in to view it but unfortunately I closed my FB account a while ago. I can still view public casts on there without an account though. FB is getting weird sometimes these days. I would have liked to have seen that.

Geddy Lee's bass: Solved. :):):)

Geddy on the Riki. Early days. I saw them live in '79 or '80. Needless to say, was blown away.

Random post: Chatting with a friend today and mentioned that "And I need a hair cut pretty bad too. They are all closed now though. Oh well, back to the sixties I guess." Joking around. She replies "Well if your hair gets long enough you can join a BAND." then inserts LOLs. I kid you not. I must have mentioned that I used to play or something or I gave her a link to dvx as my hangout or just a lucky joke. She caught me a bit off my guard there with that one hahaha. Yeah, she's pretty cool. :)

Side nite (historical reference), Geddy Lee's parents met in Auschwitz. His real name is spelled "Weinrib" but that's a Canadian take on what is usually "Weintraub". In German/Yiddish, "wein" is wine and "traube" is grape. Traub itself is grave but it's likely just the Yiddish truncation of the German word, where the last letter is almost silent.

I vaguely remember him briefly speaking of his past once although not in that detail. Very brief. I didn't know the above though. :)

I have a friend from my youth who lives in San Diego and another whom I met after moving to LA in 1987. They have never met but kind of know about each other from our separate phone conversations. A couple of months ago, something struck me. I tell them - in separate conversations - "your fathers could have met ... in Auschwitz". And each of them replied in a virtually identical manner, "My father wasn't really in Auschwitz that long. He arrived on a train, placed into a group of able body males and quickly sent to a work camp. That's how he survived. The other group was immediately led to the gas chambers".

Very powerful and informative. That was a big war. My parents as well as the parents of many, many others on this board were in that war as well I have to strongly suspect. And if not that war then a different war or even a current war.
I could expand on that, and have briefly at dvx to some degree at times in the past but I think that's not a place I really want to go, to a large extent in this thread primarily. :)
(longest sentence ever)
I have to play a tune. Love ya man and I sincerely Thank-you once again. :)

//I edited my post only to include the words "I sincerely" only because the lack of it has been haunting me.:) -Cheers DLD.
