What are you listening to now ?

^ Yikes. Now THAT is heavy. As in a strong soundtrack for you non-60's-folks who don't recognize the word 'heavy'.

It's a magnificent composition. I only hope that the composer I have in mind for the project will write a final track that moves me as much as FILD does...

Yeah, I listened to it and my first thought was 'heavy'. Strange heh? Yeah, I haven't used that word in years. Just first impression that best described it for me. Sounds outstanding.

...

Best I could come up with before I check out for the night. I'm running out of material.
More new stuff, please.

Eagles.

Hey Billy. Is he a friend of yours or are you in the band?
Just asking because if that was the case I'd like to chat with you a bit via PM or something.

...

Getting close to exhausting my invetory of 70's classics.
I have maybe a few more at least. And a few that I think may be too obscure for the general population. We'll see.

I'd rather listen to new stuff as well.

Grand Funk: Country Road. You may recognize this from a Stones song.

I was expecting something else but when I saw the first frame of the video, I had to laugh.

I've seen that a dozen or two times already. Those guys are alright. :thumbup: :beer:

... Try and give the band a shout. Maybe you'll catch one of them in a good mood or something. Ya never know.

I have to quote myself here because I was watching Rush on some Canadian documentary last night, and he was saying how a group of filmakers had approached them about making a doc about Rush.

Getty Lee explained he thought they were idiots and tried to talk them out of it.
They persisted, and I think Getty Lee had seen some of thier previous stuff, which he liked, so he said, "if your that crazy, do it." .

So they did it man. They made the doc on Rush. Just because they asked them if they could and Rush was in the mood at the time to let them.

//Just saying, don't be intimidated I guess.

OK. I have over 3000 dvxuser posts. 1000 of those I spent 'right here' in this thread.
It seems.

So give me ONE good song before I shut it down for the night.
Or I'll keep posting and I promise I will get ALL of you banned.
I'll even get your family and all of their relatives and anyone who can even spell your name, BANNED. If they can even spell BANNED, their BANNED.

One! Good! Song!

Then I'll leave you alone.

Guys stumped are you?

Here's a good song man.

Patti Smith cover.

That wasn't so hard was it?

That's an interesting story. I've heard maybe only a few Rush songs, but I caught most of that doc on VH1, and I couldn't stop watching it. It was very well-made.

I'd like to try and get NMH's music, but I haven't the slightest idea how to get in touch with nay of the band members. Plus I think an indie label released their music, so I'm not sure who actually owns it, or who I would go through. But I'd suspect it would still cost a small fortune (probably way less than most pop music, but still too expensive for me). But I think I might actually try anyway. To keep the thread going with music, here's my favorite NMH song, and the one I'd really REALLY like to use for a film I'm writing:

In The Aeroplane Over The Sea

One of the most beautiful songs I've heard.

And here's a really great cover by a band that plays Neutral Milk Hotel songs on the ukulele Neutral Uke Hotel

//ummmm...
