What are you listening to now ?

Snack Time - Barenaked ladies
Baby Road - The Beatles
Moving Rhymes for Modern Times - Jim Gill
School House Rock - David McCall

Hmm... I'm sensing a pattern here. I have got to get out more!

.

I'm currently diggin' the first three albums from the band called 'The New Pornographers'. Some great stuff on there and it grows on you fast. Anyone else heard of them?

Most people in LA who like Springsteen are transplanted New Yorkers. He seems like a mostly east coast artist. Growing up in LA, I never met anyone who was into him even a quarter as much as east coasters. Had a few good songs but his music seemed to not have much nuance, it was just so straightforward. Not bad, just not much mystery or subtley to his music.

Yeah, I don't think I would fare well in Vancouver or Cali. There wouldn't be much common ground storywise I don't think. Or maybe there would, I don't know. :)

Alice Cooper-No more Mr. Nice guy live. I really like this version and quality of sound on this YT video. Just browsing.

Mojo Nixon/Skid Roper and the Beat Farmers...................reliving my California days while I barbeque outside in -25 C.

I know you guys maybe don't post links because the host sais not to, but , hey.
It'll take me longer to look it up on youtube than it will be for me to check it out in a link.

Just post a link.
It's not a big deal. If I want to browse user I'll browse. If I'm hanging in the cafe, let us hang. It's not taking away any time from other subjects. We (I) need down time.Relax the rules a bit and just post the damn video link. Otherwise, I'm not interested in doing a search.

Ya know. imo. Thanks.

//In fact, dont even tell me what your listening to unless you have a link. Cause then I have to spend another 15 minutes trying to look up what your talking about and even then it may not even be the same song. Just post the poo pooing link. No need for a big hooplah here. poo poo.

Joe Satraiani- One Big Rush.

I've heard only 3 guitar players who could consistantly play solos that hold my attention for over 3 minutes, song to song. Jeff Beck is another. I'll post #3 later when I find a link.

Joe Satriani...

I'd rather have my teeth drilled without Novocain that listen to 3+ minutes of ANY guitar solo and I've played Guitar since I was 13 (43 now!).

Also I highly recommend websites like www.pandora.com where you can pick a musician you like and they play songs randomly by that musician and similar, and let you rate songs as a thumbs up or thumbs down to help understand your tastes to play the next song. Pretty cool website where I found a few songs I never heard before that were amazing.
