C300: What are you guys using for stabilization?

Seems like a winning combo! I'll look into it more.

Do you find shooting in 4k vs 8k reduces the strain on the camera re: possible overheating?

TBH I have no need for 8k, I doubt I'd ever use it.

I'll throw in my own "same, same" to the others above for the RS 2 + R5 combo. It's great. I shot all day with it yesterday on a project with it as the A-cam. The RS 2 does mitigate up/down movement better than the Ronin-S. Having the touchscreen on the gimbal makes it super easy and quick to operate.

On the R5 I shot in C-log/4K HQ Fine mode all day. ~10 hrs with an hour down-time for lunch. Shot ~190 clips. No overheating whatsoever. DPAF + Eye-tracking, which I relied heavily on, was amazing. I find I get ~3-3.5 hours per battery. I shot a time-lapse project for a client this past Saturday and got similar battery usage.

I haven't tried my C500M2 on the RS 2 yet. I did on the Ronin-S and it worked so there is no reason it would not work stripped down on the RS 2. That said, trying it is more of a novelty. I would do R5/RS 2 for smooth work, C500M2 handheld for that kind of look.

Once the Canon R5 firmware comes out giving the R5 C-log3 it'll be that much better.
