What are you doing for Timecode in to A7s?

Has anyone had any success syncing TC from another camera or TC source? Planning on using A7s a apart of 3 camera set up with F3 and BMPC with F3 as master TC.

I just use a slate with TC running at the start of each take for 10 seconds or so, makes it easy in post, shoot it with all cams.

I find audio sync works fast and is very accurate in modern NLE's. So the time of the shot sorts what shots go together, and the slate confirms this.

If you all start rolling w/o slate, just do a tail slate before cut.

I use a whiteboard with a digital clock velcroed on, shows down to seconds, some PA's find it easier to use a dry erase marker than to use a digital slate on my iPad or iPhone, my preferred slates.

In a real pinch just use verbal slating, and read off TOD from synced watches. This if cams are far separated.

I can get it on both channels but haven't found a combination of plugs to get 2 discrete channels. One for guide track one for TC... still testing.

With an external recorder like the O7Q you could record TC and retain the audio channels.

I'm trying to do this as well - I have a Sony a7s and an Atomos Shogun. Not sure yet what gear my sound person will have but i'd like to have everything jammed with the same TC. Did you sort this out? What did you end up doing?

Two things I'm looking for in a firmware update is real timecode and unique file naming. These are easy and should have been in place. The GH4 has both although time of day drifts.

I'm beginning to wonder if we will ever see another firmware update for the a7s. Sony is so busy coming out with new models to replace year-old ones I think they believe that counts as firmware updates.
