what apps are you using to capture and edit, export with your hv20 and with what setting as now apps have a hv20 setting - marty.

Artscroll could you be more specific what method are you using ?
I am new to all editig software and have no idea how to remove pulldown, could anyone tell me (step-by-step) how to manage it, for example in Vegas 7.0e ?

i get hv20 end of this week and will post my findings i'm going to try pp 2.0, hvdsplit and vegas 7.0d... how is everyone else capturing with theres ?

That RODE is huge! I bet it sounds nice. That would be interesting to balance on the Steadicam Merlin. I've got the DM-50 and even though I still get a little noise from the cam, I like the compactness and stereo options and it looks cool with the Merlin. The DM-50 has no bass below 150hz, sadly. Nice Rode!

thanks, it sounds great on the hv20, i actually havent even listen to the on board mic, as i plugged it straight in once i got it :) and i dont get any motor noise thankfully :) though it looks big hardly notice it while i did some pratice filming, howcome you get no bass below 150hz ??

can u post a pic so i can see how the DM-50 looks on the hv20 - thanks

regards Marty.

The DM-50 in specs says it doesn't pick up below 150hz. They probably did that on purpose so folks wouldn't complain about windy conditions. I'm happy with my DM-50 but I've heard others complain. It performed quite well in windy conditions with the stock windscreens that it comes with, plus I like the option of having a true mono shotgun and a stereo mic all in one. Plus it is powered by the cam. However, that Rode of yours most certainly will sound better.

http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=93419&highlight=IVTC is a link containing the IVTC method I prefer with the HV20. It is quite a complex process though but works for me. You have to be a little saavy with AVISYNTH, a freeware video scripting app.

thanks for that link but i'm using PAL hv20 so i dont have to use pulldown :) [lucky pal users :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) ] but do do need to know how to change the preivew in prem pro 2 and vegas as my play back is very choppy... i'm runing an AMD 64 X 2 dual core 3800, 2 gig ram so it should be enough processing power to handle HD..... but i'm going to do a format soon, start clean. any advice ? BTW god bless prgressive scan on my new HV20. I have been using HDVsplit. Does this capture true prgressive when in 25P mode with the hv20 ? or is it capturing the progressive footage as interlaced footage ??

- Marty.
