What am I doing wrong? (SGBladeRR2 + DVX100b)

when measuring focus, where do you measure from, the very front of the lens or some other marker?

On this note... i'll ask if there is a chart or rule to say if your using XYZ lense you need to be XYZ feet to get proper focus.. anyone?

I think I'm having the same problem you were. My image is way soft and the sgpro motor is beginning to buzz.

Take a look

It was a fairly sunny day but the image is really noisy in the dark area's.

i would say zoom in further. You want to get academy frame.

Sup up a piece of 8.5 by 11 paper horizontally on a wall and place a 50mm lens at 2 ft focus. It should fill the entire frame from left to right, then you know you've zoomed in enough.

do you measure distance from the lens to the paper (subject)?
Also is there a chart on the distance your subject should be based on the lens you use?

canon lens users want to chime in here? I know certain lens series can cause issues with vignetting.

I have used the Canon FD 28mm 2.8 with the SGpro and the results compared to my 50mm 1.4 are poor. The 50mm looks clean and sharp. The 28mm looks milky, softer and vignettes more.

Don't know if that helps...
