720 version of "sunrise"

Lucky Duck
Forgive the new post but I didn't think those of you who couldn't play the first file would think to look again. I am posting a 720 version of it that should play smoother for Mac users. Also, I added some of the other morning footage to the end of the piece to make it more complete.

The preset I am using is VIVIDRGB up to the closeups of the sun and then I'm using Panalook for the last few people shots.

Right click and save as.

It's still about 192mb because it's an extended version.

sick, downloading now.

have ya toyed arounda bit more with the magentaish look of your new preset, yet while retaining that lust and saturated color?

Just finished watching. Again, loved it.
I wonder what you could do to your dvx preset to make the grass in the people shots really jump out more?

Extremely nice work. Really beautiful. I am seriously thinking of trading in my DVX100B which has only 4 hours on it.

I am only inclined to develop and test a preset in sunny weather where I can get a real sense of how colors are reacting. We haven't had a sunny day in weeks here in Seattle so I'm not making any adjustments to the preset until it's practical.

The reason I post this stuff to begin with is to allow others to tweak and perhaps come up with a better version. I would encourage you to do that. The magenta cast you speak of is something you can get rid of with a little patience and testing.

The colors in this piece are popping about as much as I want them to. To further saturate them would be overkill for me so I don't share your opinion of the grass not popping enough. Also keep in mind that there are atmospheric considerations, the whole area was covered in a fog when I shot it so things are not going to be as vivid as they would be on a sunny afternoon, for instance.

Color is subjective and I'm very happy with the look I got for all of these shots. There's nothing I would change.

Hi Disjecta, beautiful work :) Could you please share your exporting technique. I'm having issues in PP2.0 exporting the footage. :( :violin: I really want to put it on a DVD with minimum quality loss afterwards. I'd be greatfull. Thanks

Looks great as usual Disjecta. I think the colors are as saturated as I'd want them to be, especially when viewed on a plasma television.

Dmitry, Premiere really struggles with downconverting the HD footage. If you use the adobe media encoder, and encode directly from your HD timeline, the footage will end up looking like mush, very soft. You'll get much nicer results if you edit your project in your HD timeline, then open that sequence up in a new widescreen DV project, scale down the clips to the proper size, and encode for DVD from there. I believe Disjects exports a cineform file, then imports into Vegas for final encoding.

Again beautiful work Disjecta, and sorry for hijacking the thread. Maybe we should start a Premiere/Vegas thread where we can share experiences with editing HD on a PC.

i only was curious to figure out HOW to get something like that grass to pop out more. Thining of hobbiton in LOTR, kinda thing. Very lucious greens without killing peoples skin tones.
