Western 7D short...

Greetings!

I am pleased to announce that the short film Wanted has been released!

This was shot entirely on the Canon 7D at a western set in San Antonio. This was our first major 7D project, and the camera greatly exceeded all of our expectations. We had a few issues keeping shots in focus and exposed properly, however the depth of field, image quality and ease of use were extremely beneficial and outweighed any negatives.

To view the short film, please visit our web site at http://wantedwestern.com/videos.html

Thanks,
Micah N.

Really nice work. Some of the actors seemed a bit young but overall this was great. Man, you should get something together for Westfest. That set/town was amazing. Great costumes, props, etc...

Really professional work.

Very well done mate.

You've really put some effort into this and it shows.

My only big gripe is the actors were far, far too young. This kind of threw me.

Also the gunplay editing could be a lot tighter.

Also, what man's man sips a shot? (well it's prob a bit of whiskey but looks like a shot glass to me).

Well done! Some of the best cinematography on this site.

Good job! I like your shots. It would have been better if the actors were slightly older. And other thing was I would have prefered less burn on the actors. I watched a western a while back and I remember checking the lighting. Many times you couldn't see the actors eyes as well. You always have the issue with the hat. I see you tried to make sure that was exposed correctly, but ended up burning them on the cheeks and lower face. So those were my only two problems. A great use of my time. 90% better than most people's stuff out here on the web. So you're already in the top 10% - great job!

That was great! Good shots in there for sure.

My main gripe is not so much the age of the actors, but the fact that they look so freshly shaven and clean. I mean, assuming they're old enough to grow some stubble, that would have looked a bit better, or in the very least, smudge some dirt on their faces and clothes. I feel like the cleanliness of the actors is always the most telling giveaway when shooting period pieces like this. Most people didn't have the luxury of daily showers and razors.

Just my 2 cents.

Nicely done, I really loved the sets and costumes, very good detail. Where did you shoot it?

I'm going to agree with this. There is a certain age/lack of aging on the costumes and actors. A little more dirt, a little aging on the props ( like the gun holsters ) would add much to the production value. I definitely commend you on being able to pull off such a neat project so well. Congrats!

Clearly you've put a lot of effort into this - it's looking really great!

I would agree that things generally aren't looking dirty enough - faces and clothes especially.

again - nice work!
