Weird translucent black bars going up 60D footage.

Stephen is right. Your settings must be 1/60 in NTSC land or 1/50 in PAL land if you are going to shoot under average fluorescent lights or industrial metal halide types. Its likely you shutter was way too high, as the 'bars' get worse with higher shutter speeds.

You should be careful if you're straying from the 180 degree shutter rule (which means using 1/50 for 24/25 fps and 1/60 for 30fps). You can probably double these speeds for capturing fast motion - sports for instance - but much faster and you may introduce strange artifacts like the one you're experiencing. In bright sunshine, this means using neutral density filters. Get yourself ND4 and ND8 filters and you should be covered. On no account use a shutter speed lower than the frame rate you're shooting at. Sorry if you know this already..
