Anybody else noticed this- ??
I have a canon fd 50mm 1.4 and when focusing on on a distance of say, 10 feet, anything closer than 10' that's out of focus is very 'fuzzy' and glowing in a bad way, as if there was a highlight diffusion filter on. Anything farther than 10' looks like normal bokeh. I'm shooting close to, or wide open to get this effect. I don't remember if it happens on any other lenses.
The lens is perfectly clear and I've used it many times before on other cameras without issue. What could it be?
Anything white or light-colored is especially bad. Anybody notice this on other types of lenses when something in front of the focal distance is out of focus?
It doesn't happen with the kit lens, but maybe it's not fast enough.
