Weird pet peeves?

3. The use of the word "WE" when it refers to a cities sports team.

Same coin; different side -- the pretense that a sports team belongs to the city.

Example -- a big push to sell Charlotte Bobcats season tickets. Some dude in a Bobcats uniform holding a ball at that camera saying "get closer to YOUR Charlotte Bobcats."

Dude . . . I voted against your arena (as did most of us, but the city built it anyway), I couldn't care less that you're here, and I know not one of your punk asses gives a rip about this city . . . and it's only a matter of time before the first one of you wraps your Porsche around a telephone pole on a DUI. (Yeah, there were things I didn't miss when the Hornets left.)

*LOL @ Monte and feeling bad for it*

Piggybacking off of John's mention of Target, I HATE HATE HATE being in a store with 40 cash registers when only 3 of them are open and only two accept my method of payment.
You reminded me of another one...
Everyone knows those plastic dividers used to separate your items from the other schmucks in Target or Walmart, right? Well, how f*****g hard would it be to make sure each aisle has one?! They should hire someone if they have to...a "Plastic Divider Manager" or what have you. But NOOOOOO! I gotta wait till the cashier rings up all 84 cans of "Fancy Feast" for the broad in front of me before I can put my Sam Adams on the counter!

1. I can't stand it when someone uses the word "seen" improperly...
"I seen you's guys at the store yesterday. I seen it. I seen it." Arrrrrghh!

2. How about the unsettling tactile sensation of touching a glass that has just gone through a dishwasher cycle? It's clean, but not smooth--like there's a film on it. Makes me cringe just thinking of it. Am I alone on this one?

3. "Music." Calling that **** you hear on the radio "punk." That ain't punk, ****o.
White kids acting like ganstas. Get your own identity, assholes.

To piggyback your comment (and from someone who also voted against it) any sort of advertising a local sports team needs to do to attract fans... C'mon if you were any good or developed any following you wouldn't need to advertise

Hope this one doesn't get me banned, but it's been bothering me a lot lately...

How about these girls who look like they are 18-20 and you just stare at only to find out they are still in middle school.

Who are these parents who let their kids go out looking like this, and why when I was that age did girls not look like this?

The near-complete societal breakdown when it comes to proper use of the apostrophe.

Ya' know what? I'm gonna' stop doing this just 'cause I think it makes me sound more laid back.

I'm doin' it just for you David.

Hey I agree with almost all the pet peeves we have here, but actually I love when girls hum and red lunch boxes send me into fits of rage.

My biggest pet peeve is when you're doin' two girls and the less attractive of the two says, "save it for me."

I hate loud girls. I was in a coffee shop a few weeks ago and these two girls were badmouthing another girl who had sex with some random guy at a party. I didn't need to hear that story.

I hate it when a girl takes advantage of me. What, they think I'm just a piece of meat? I'm just a sensitive man who likes to drink kool aid and listen to Kenny G's greatest hits.

Talking about shopping and how much that sucks generally, I f-ing hate being behind the a-hole at any kind of market who is still writing checks.

Invariably, this happens when I have three to seven items and somewhere to be fourteen minutes later. To make matters worse, most often, my wife has forced me to purchase some feminine hygene product - AGAIN - and I'm standing there with a box of these:

tampax.jpg

I loathe this situation, regardless of who the cashier is. Whether it be an adorably cute blonde college girl wearing low-rise jeans, or the twice-divorced-middle-age-curmudgeon-cum-store-manager, I despise being forced - yes, forced - to purchase these products for my lovely wife.

It is always, "Please go to the store and pick up a bunch of cilantro, two tomatillos and a box of tampons". For the love of Mike, she never tells me what kind to get so I buy the seventy-five dollar Tampax Pearl IIs or OB Platinums.

I f-ing hate it because it embarrasses the five-year-old boy, who loves his collection of Star Wars toys more than anything else, still gasping for life within me and I feel that it is worth mentioning here.

Anyway, these overly cautious technology hold-outs, who prize the ability to publicly exercise their penmanship skills, or who perhaps subscribe to the notion that all things plastic compromise their personal security - or whatever - never fail to get in front of me in line.

The store manager, or produce guy or zit-faced seventeen year-old box boy must then be paged from the very farthest back reaches of the store to come and "override" or "key" when one of these lumps on society decides to do things the old-fashion way.

Why not just barter a chicken or some berries from your yard, asshole?! Or would that take too long? I'll forgive food stamps - I'm not a completely heartless bastard after all.

Somehow, once my important appointment time has come and gone, the appointed employee shows up to "approve" the transaction with a lackadaisical flick of their seventy-three-keys-deep key ring.

Please forget the fact that they never, never, never actually look at the check in question - they simply show up for a moment and do whatever it is that they do to mechanically make the infernal machine print something on the back of the worthless piece of paper.

And another thing - what the f is with all these non-membership stores giving out plastic "membership" cards and key fobs? Don't let the store track your spending and pay a premium, add one for every store you frequent and become the store manager with a bunch of extraneous **** hanging off your key ring.

I can't win.

i hate sitting in a restaurant with my back facing towards people...feels like i'm going to get stabbed.

i hate when people tell you they will do something, when you both know they wont. like 'yeah sure i can get that dvd to you' and they dont

i hate when there's the girl in the group that MUST HAVE ALL OF THE ATTENTION...and she even says 'why am i like, always like, the center of attention?!' happened last week...i wanted to bitchslap her

I also hate when every store tries to get you to sign up for their credit card so that you can save 10% that day on the stick of deodorant you picked up because your other stick fell in the toilet.

Best Buy can take their 8 free issues of Entertainment Weekly and Sports Illustrated and shove them up their collective asses.

dude no...i have the worst of them all. I work in IT, have for 2 1/2 years. I HATE when the id10t users think they know more and try to tell me what to do. i just want to kill a squirrel when that happens. for instance, i was working on a server, and some dipshit doctor comes in, and since he's a doctor, he knows everything- he says 'well its supposed to automatically do that' and i was like 'sir, if you dont mind, i would like to do my f*cking job"...only i didnt say f*cking

I hate that too. I can be a real jumpy bastard when I've got my back to the door/window/other people. I like to keep an eye on things. You never know, right?

You used them mostly correctly. No problems there.

It's apostrophes where they don't belong which drive me up the wall.

Like in plural words. "Uptown Auto's."

Yeah, I'd buy a car from there.

haha. I used to be nice and listen to the whole spiel and sound interested, but now I cut them off, like "No. Just..no. I don't want it. No."

And then they give you that look like "Okaaaaaaay, but you're gonna be spending an unecessary 0.38"

Breaking my own pet peeve

Breaking my own pet peeve

My pet peeve is something i do ALL the time. I hate it when people post back-to-back messages withouth consolidating them into one. I know I'm not the only one, so thanks for not riding me about it...I'm getting better....

Another thing I hate in writers that I tend do to do a lot is the overuse of the ellipsis "...".
And what's worse is when there're either too many or too few periods.
