GH3 Weird Panasonic lens issues better on the GH3?

I have a hacked GH1, but have found that whenever I use the stock lens or another Panasonic lens, the image is much more prone to break up. I definitely see more vertical bands and macroblocking with those lenses then I do using old Minolta glass.

I believe part of it is in the electronics and how the lens talks to the camera- somehow this generates weird problems. I'm looking at upgrading to a GH3, but I'm curious if that camera works better with Panasonic glass, or if it still has those issues.

Any thoughts?

What lenses are we talking about? 14-140 is pretty damn sharp (well mine was anyway), ie it can tend to look more "blocky".

is this hacked gh1? if not, then we know whats the problem here.

It is hacked. I've heard other people on the boards talk about how they never shoot with Panasonic glass because it causes problems. Maybe I'm misremembering?

With the GH3 using Lumix lenses does not cause macroblocking if you shoot in 50mbps MOV. At least not in my experience.

Well again could be several causes (or rather, what you're actually seeing). IMO I got a lot of blockiness even on "C-settings" high bitrate setting on the GH1, it's not as near as smooth as a hacked GH2. Depends on the scene, and the sharpness of the lens, how much blockiness you're seeing.
