Wedding Trailer 2nd gig

Must try out the 25p. Does that mean you have to use a top light when your shooting indoors? Also do you do a lot of grading in post? When do you use?

Never have to use a light indoors. If I were to do a professional higher profile shoot than my norm I would light it but for the average run of the mill kind of work, you don't ned to. The DVX is great in these conditions,,, I've gone to the DVX from a 1/6" 3CCD cam to a 1/3" 3 chip cam,,,, I've only used gain on this baby a couple of times, even indoors with a few lights on you still should be around f1.7 to f2.8 in 1/25th shutter.

Edit, BTW, I only CC in post if I want a look I can't get in camera, eg/ adding white diffusion,, I have my scenefiles set for a few different "tints" if you wish.

Stellar stuff Shaun.
Really extraordinary footage.

And an RHD Chevy to boot.
Who would've thunk?!

are you sure about mast ped down to -13?
seems a bit dark at that point.

I'm very impressed with the look of this, so rich. And, there was no CC done to enhance the colors? I especially like the shot of the car, the look there takes you back...

Absolutely no CC. The color temp is way up there actually way down really, hence the reds are super punchy. Master ped at -13, really cranked the contrast, only other thing is some white diffusion and a slight vignette with 2:35 with AE, thats it!

Didn't think this thread would ever come out again, thanks for you belated comment, I appreciate your thoughts.

yeah, that looks really great man, I'm with you on i love shooting in 24p it's my absolute favorite.

I've been looking on trying to get some more contrast in my work I'm gonna go head and try cranking down my master ped to those super low numbers like you.

Keep that 24p contrasty stuff up man! looks super good.

I already commented on your footage in another forum, but Great Work Mate!!!

Obviously, you were supposed to get a DVX :)

Those skillz will definitely transfer to the 150.

Sweet comments guys! Thanks heaps.
31st Jan is my 1st gig on a new TV show i'm doing on Pay TV. I gotta go and shoot a Rodeo,,,,bull riding and stuff, just gotta work out if I should shoot 50i plain or 25p with some gamma curves and stuff??? Any advice,,,,, maybe I might start a new thread.

Hi shaun, i used your settings this week-end for a wedding in Belgium, but i set -10 on pedestral and used more 1/25 or 1/50 then 1/125 because weather was not sunny. We all haven't the chance as you LOL.
I say great settings.
But i've one question, in 2 or 3 accurences, i had problem with white balance, my colours stayed around hard yellow when white balance was done under warm lightning
I see that your footages in church are yellowish in placed then outdoor.
My question is did you made balance on white paper or on light yellow? Did you experience some trouble with white balaning?

I white balanced of white in the church,,, there was plenty of natural light but also some fairly warm lights as well.

My scenefile also was set to be pretty warm in the color temp. I've since gone away from that look and gone totally the opposite with more cold tones.

Thank shaun for reply, here some pictures from the wedding shoot ,hope you enjoy.

I agree, beautiful images. I love the warmth here in these shots, I may have overdone it a tad. Your shots seem to look more natural.

Thx grovechuck and shaun.
No adapter used,
i've the dvx for one year and haven't purchased such things.

Shaun, so i said, before i was shooting in 4/3 , you have me changed to squeeze, it's great and for yet i don't see degradation, you talk about i light white diffusion in Ae, have you made it with magi B or with wich such solid and blur?
Bye bye from Belgium.
