GH2 Wedding shooting in 24p or 50i?

Hi all!
I am preparing for wedding shooting. Despite I read plenty of discussions regarding fps settings I am still little bit confused. My question is: Can I shoot in 24p or I should use 50i considering I am running on PAL GH2? I will use mic so I want to keep sound but I am not sure If It possible on 24p!? I would appreciate any responses.

Thank you in advance!

Bob

Well living in pal land i prefer 1080i,mic ? on board /external ,the sound is kept using any framerate.

The most important thing here is how are you going to distribute the video? Are you going to create a PAL DVD or Blu-ray from it? If so then you must shoot in 1080i as 24p might not be compatible with all PAL players.

However, if you are just going to share it online then shoot in 1080p @ 24 FPS. It offers a much higher bit rate and it is true 1080p.

The difference i find between 1080i and 24Ps sharpness is not that much, but as far as i know 24P is BLU RAY compatable and all players BD & dvd play 24P as cinema films are made that way, vimeo and you tube convert to Progessive and even when filmed in 1080i and want a file for the web it is simple to render in 1080P,i just find that 24P filmed on my pal GH2 too jerky looking.

The difference in image quality between 50i 17Mbps & 24p 24Mbps is noticeable. It's not a big problem to conform 24p footage to 25p here in PAL-land it's what they do with all the Hollywood movies when they release them on DVD they just speed them up 4%.

Not as noticeable as 720P AND 1080i,it is a problem conforming frame rates without the correct software and why should that be expected because pana leave out 25P, with my GH2 even live panning 24P is stuttery, they have lost a lot of sales because of this.Anyway 1080i is fine for me.no final cut studio no mac probobly saves a lot of unwarrented work.

It's a very simple matter to conform 24p to 25p using Cinema Tools in Final Cut Studio on the Mac. It takes no time at all as it just flips some bits in the file header. I am sure that there must be some equivalent piece of Windows software to do the same job.
