Wedding Music Video

This is the wedding where I was asked at short notice to film, as I was setting up to start in the Summer after my free weddings last summer.

Let me know what you think.

I left the Guitar part in but I'm unsure as it was planned to be clips to be used as a music video style going accross the strings, and a few pans...I don't know if It looks really good or it's better to fade to the couple watching her play.

I might need to think about a new ending though

I also had the Glasses on Table Focusing tricks but Left those out for this one, as I also did a Ceremony Trailer for them and this is now a Reception Trailor :)

Well done. Shooting a wedding is not easy.

Did you shoot with a DVX? If so, were you shooting 24p or 24p advance? In other words, what settings did you use?

Thankyou, I used the DVX with the Glidecam.
I asked in the rehearsal if there was a table and box, so they did this for me, to put the glidecam and camera on during the ceremony.
The bride and groom prefered me at the back as it was quite small and wanted it low key :)

Settings: Interlaced as the Focusing is alot quicker plus in the Low light conditions on the Dancing later would mean I would need to change to interlaced anyway :)

Hi Philip - Did you shoot 4x3 and letterbox in post, or did you shoot letterbox in camera, or shoot squeeze?

Couldnt tick the Quote box ... anyway it is nice. You have captured the joy between these two.

Did you consider any audio. If you do audio in your weddings what hardware do you use? I just bought a DVX100 2nd hand and would like to think I can get wireless audio in - but not sure what I need to do it.

Anyway.... I would finish with a 25% slow mo where the green lights are playing on their skin. Looks cool. Clunkie just cutting to the still.

I really like the rise over the tree at start!. The lights blur is a nice bit too - a touch jerky but if you slow it down it will be too long. if you cut it you will miss the nice wide blurs. I would leave it but try a long slow fade transition bringing in the next frame earlier without losing the lights in focus.

The stuck ring was funny twice but 3 segments - I think - is too much. 1st and 3rd shots only.

Interesting how you seem to mixed the chronology.... Seeing the celebrant talking seemingly after they are actually married; cutting to a day time view, mid reception (?), of the venue; some speeches in the middle of the dances butt works well and is quite nice though - breaks it up and sets a context.

The chandalier (sorry spelling) pan is not too good. you could slow it down on the thing (ha!) and fade transition to the couple below. Ditch the verticle pan - I got lost with it.

Over all - quite good. The product is quite acceptable and the points I make are subjective and minor.
