Produced for Vodafone.
Shot on GH1 (1080_24p, 'reliable' hack) w/ Lumix 20mm f1.7.
FaderND to maintain f1.7 and shallow dof. z96 LED lights for a little fill.
'Smooth' film mode.
After Effects w/ Mocha for the motion tracking titles.
Edited in Edius.
Mastered in mjpeg w/ final mp4 render and CC + noise-removal handled in TMPGEnc Xpress.
I also created the opening and ending animations based on a stock AE project purchased at Videohive.net. Music purchased from Stockmusic.net

The device will be released/sold in Europe first, but will come to the US in another year or so. There are so many features and functions available, all of them voice-activated, and we only demonstrated four of them! The company developing the technology is based in Silicon Valley (San Jose) in California.

I produced another web commercial directly for the tech firm building the device, but I was reluctant to share it here due to the fact that I overexposed compared to these vids. The difference being that I shot it with a different lens (without a FaderND) and I stupidly changed my exposure method from 'center' to 'center-weighted'. Here's the vid for comparison:

Will this be expensive technology?
I don't think so. I'd expect it to be priced close to other similar in-car nav devices. They have chosen to make it portable/removable as well, as that is what their market research concluded folks want nowadays.

They look great. "Drive carefully". Funny as hell!
Something really funny is that my line (yes that is me driving/acting in the redwood video!) "heading to the redwoods" has become the joke around the office! Anytime someone asks 'where are you going' the answer is "heading to the redwoods!" =)
