Hi everybody,
First off, my thanks to everyone who has posted workflow explanations in this forum.
I'm afraid to say, however, that they just don't answer some basic questions.
I still can't get FCP 5.1 to import whole batches of .mxf files from a P2CMS database. Each clip has a contents folder and I have to select them individually to import- one clip at a time! I've posted two threads seeking enlightenment but get no responses.
Then I realized I could connect a P2 card to my laptop, open FCP and simply select Import > Panasonic P2 and select the card. It allows me to import all clips simultaneously and converts them to .mov files that show up in my Capture Scratch.
Simple.
If there are problems with this SIMPLE workflow, somebody please let me know.
All we have on here are stickies that tell people to use the deplorable P2CMS interface or spend money on additional software such as P2LogPro.
Can anyone chime in on this?
If I am way off base, let me know, but judging from the other posts I'm reading, there are some confused users out there...
