waveform or false color? what do most of ya use ? with your field monitors ?

I'm cheap. On set I use a Marshall 7inch HDMI monitor with false color. Seems to work really good. I wish they would have not made pink as the skin tone but it's all good.

It reads 0 - 110 like a waveform. Just using - false color.

Are you asking because of the wf and false color functions that come with Magic Lantern now, or are you asking because you want to buy a new monitor?
Also wave form and false color are used in similar ways, but have different uses, so it depends on what your needs are.

I'm just starting to learn how to use false color on a monitor. So.....what things is false color particularly good for and what things is the waveform particularly good for?

they can overlap. i like the waveform for the big picture. i like false color for specific areas, like skin. it's easier to tell relative values with false color.

waveform also has some specific engineering/set up uses.
