I was offered a gig with Filmmaker Magazine doing some mini-docs in Park City during Slamdance/Sundance so this made for an ideal time to buy one. Don't think overheating will be a problem at 30°F.

Of course, this means the next big camera will be announced soon so look for this kit in the marketplace next week. ;)

I might have to post this on Nikon Rumors. Something has to be coming out now!!

How much did the adapters cost?
 
if it was handed to me, i wouldn't turn my nose up at it. but the 1D Mark IV just costs too much to be what I consider a temporary solution. easily by 2011, I'll be on to something else.

I can't talk, I ditched my D90 for the MKII 6 months ago.

Rumour has it the D900 will be out in about 3 weeks, I think that's a certainty now that you've upgraded.

H.264 can get really ugly in tricky creative exposure situations. I'm really hoping the D900 has a better debayer and higher bit-rate mjpeg. I was almost tempted to get the 1DMKIV but yeah it's pricey and I'm just not a long GOP fan.

Enjoy the manual control and frame rate choice! Suffer the codec.
 
the key challenge, for me, will be fleshtones. most everything I've seen seems to push toward yellow in otherwise neutral lighting. camera should be arriving today.
