Warranty?

I'm considering buying a used, 3 week old HMC-150, and would like to purchase an additional warranty. But after researching the MACK warranty, it seems that it may not be the best choice. I want a warranty bad seeing as how my A1 died recently and I received a full refund because of a warranty. From what i've read on the boards, MACK seems to be the main/unpopular one. What are my other options??

If you have home owner's insurance, I'd suggest adding it to that. Covers theft and accidental damage for around $50 a year.

Did the person you're buying it from register the camera on Panasonics's website? As far as I know, if you do that, Panasonic extends the 1 year warranty to 3 years.

The extended warranty from Panasonic is non transferable.

With all due respect to Panasonic, I have no idea why it would not be transferable.

After all, the company doesn't assess the initial purchase. Why would it worry about the second one.

And the item is issue; not the purchaser.

The sagemax is not covered in florida. Pretty ridiculous. The homeowners sounds good. i have that.

How does your warranty work then when the original owner sells his or her HMC150?

Panasonic's warranty is not transferable, so when does yours kick in?

i posted this in another thread. Just found this out today.

"Ok. Before I puchased the camera from another DVXer, I called Mack Cam about getting a warranty, I explained that I would be purchasing the camcorder from another individual, and they said I could get it. I called today to purchase the warranty, and low and behold, they won't do it. So now i'm a little upset that I have a $3000 camcorder with no warranty. If any of you read my other thread about how my A1 died, a warranty saved me $3700 bucks. So, any recommendations on what to do???"

The camera warranties I've seen require a notification within 30 days of the original purchase.

If you buy a used cam, it's pretty unlikely that you can get a warranty
