Warning: Stolen DVX in Vancouver

Re: Warning: Stolen DVX in Vancouver

Okay... I thought I would share this story with everyone, as it's somewhat unbelievable to me right now... I'm still trying to process it:

As previous posts show, I was pretty upset about this theft. I felt like my filmmaking freedom was taken away from me. It was a symbolic loss.

It seems after the theft a very good friend of mine called my friends and family completely behind my back and somehow managed to raise almost enough money to completely replace my DVX. I found out tonight. This is just... incredible.

Man, there are good, kind people in this world. This is reaffirming in so many ways. I am very happy right now.

Re: Warning: Stolen DVX in Vancouver

Hi, Jumar, I went from mad to sad, to happy in a matter of moments. Hey, for all you screenwriters out there, this thread is a true 'script arch', or three act structure, learn from it. :)

Great news, Jumar!

That's great news. It's amazing to have people in your life who understand what's important to you.

Re: Warning: Stolen DVX in Vancouver

just found this post - it took me through the whole gammut of emotions. I'm going to bury my dvx in a hole in the yard to hide it from all these hooligans! - and my computer! - and my hard drives! -and my wife! ...maybe that's a bit too far.

anyway glad to hear you've got such good friends and family.

Re: Warning: Stolen DVX in Vancouver

Well, the saga continues...

All the money is being sent back... for many reasons, but mostly, it just felt weird. There are a lot less fortunate people in the world than me with no camera. Instead, I have a master plan to win a DVX in a filmmaking contest! Haha!

How will the story end? Tune in next year! Meanwhile, I'm shooting Super8 over Christmas... goobye 2004, hello 1974.

Re: Warning: Stolen DVX in Vancouver

Wow, you are a selfless individual. I'm not sure I could have done that.

At the same time (just a thought) Sometimes the greatest generosity is to allow others to do for you.

Re: Warning: Stolen DVX in Vancouver

Wow - And yet another person far better then I. You are indeed a good person.

If karma is real you will have many good things come your way.
