Is WAY too heavy! I mean, I didn't expect it to be that light by any means, but not THAT heavy!
Maybe it was just a surprise for me because I went from using a GL1 with wide angle converter to the bigger A1+converter, but it's hardly even practical to use! I plan on selling mine and paying the extra for century optics just for this reason.
Also, I was put under the impression from various sources that this canon converter was special as it had a spot open for the focus assist sensor in the lense hood which isn't true and even without the hood it's still blocked by the lens.
This thing is massive. It's hard to use even on my tripod because in order to take my hands off the camera when it's attached to the tripod I'm required to tighten the locking nuts on the tripod head to their extreme or the weight from the lens converter tilts the camera down, resulting in a good shot of the ground. A simple fix would be to move the camera back so the center of gravity is more towards the center of the tripod, but I can't think of a way to do that, and even if I did, it's still not practical for me to use hand held.
This is just my opinion on the lens, and I just want people to really consider the additional weight before purchasing.
Anyone else feel the same way?
