Hello, I have two questions for PC users:

1. Which software do you use for playback
auf the 7d files? I tried the VLC-Player but it is very stuttering:angry:. I used Nero Vision and the movie plays back fine but there is no sound (with vcl I have sound:angry:)!!!

2. I`m currently editing with Edius 4.6 - which intermediate codec should In use?

Thank you

PS: I love my 7d :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG):Drogar-BigGrin(DBG):Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) (bougth it in Japan)
one more question - can you set your 7d to other languages than japanese and english? I thougt all languages would be possible, but I have only Japanese and Englisch as option.

You can load the clips into the bin in Edius, then right-click and choose 'convert'. This will convert the clips into Canopus HQ format and will give you smooth realtime editing.

Alternatively, you could look at something like Cineform Neoscene.

If you want an intermediate codec, definitely CanopusHQ, it's much faster in playback than Cineform (at least on my system).

If you upgrade your EDIUS to version 5, it'll natively edit the files without needing to be converted to an editing codec. You'll get speedier performance from converted files, but at least it will no longer be necessary to convert them.
