Visual FX Reel

Dayum.
I loved it...GREAT choice for the song, the intro with the cars flying over twice was my favorite part...perfect fit for the music.

Awesome.

That's pretty cool, it' was like a trip down CAD tv lane, I remember when the Arrow was on it captivated me....

OK BOB, I'm jealous. What are you're weapons of choice? AE, Combustion, Flame, Shake, RED, Commotion? Which one buddy? Gosh I gotta get going on my Meyers books.

Whoa! killer mealworm!

haha, its all great man! well done! love the paper airplane shot. what was that last shot with the creature under the train for?

That was pretty f-ing awesome.

The song was perfect for that.. well mostly cause I really like the Sneaker Pimps..

but..

Nice Work..

I didn't know it was like that with you Gundu. that's hot stuff. Now the starwars spoof makes sense...

too cool

what films were these shots from?

EDIT
I'd love to know what particle system you use for the lightning and in general, thanks

When this reel was done in 97, i was using Discreet Inferno. There's a couple of newer shots done on my Mac with Combustion.

Simply amazing stuff. Still if it's not DVX it probably shouldn't be in this forum.
Chris

Actually there is one shot using the DVX. In the image below, the background dancers were shot on the DVX on a green screen. The still image of the background was looking a little stale so I decided to add a little life to it.

Actually.. these effects were before Maya had come out. The CG was done on Alias PowerAnimator.

The Lightning was also done in Inferno. There really is no easy way of doing lightning (IMHO) with particles or software. I simply hand painted each frame! Old fashion hand painting like cell animation.

Dang. That was great stuff. Lots of really cool things going on there. Looks like you have a lot of fun with your work.

Bob, I've always respected the work you've put up but some of the stuff in this reel is absolutely brilliant. Very nice.
