what is everyone using for vimeo??? im using apple compressor and im wondering what settings you guys are using to go to vimeo.

H.264, 100-200mb/minute depending on how well it holds up but you could get away with way less.

I've been using x264 which is an open source H.264 encoder and I find it does a better job than anything else out there including Adobe's and Apple's products but theres a bit of learning curve for it and I think they only build it for windows. I find it tends to produce less artifacts at the same bitrate as other encoders and they are constantly optimizing it.

usually I export from PP CS4 in H.264, there's a setting called "YouTube Widescreen HD" which is all the right settings for Vimeo.

I have been exporting to WMV it seems to work fine, but YouTube Widescreen HD sounds like something I might like better.

These are my specs

Format: Quicktime, h.264 codec
Keyframes: Automatic
Data Rate: 5k (if HD)
Double Pass
Gamma Correction 1.1 (important for h.264)
Square Pixel if you are using a rectangular pixel format (HDV, DVC PRO HD, etc)

Audio
AAC 128k (Best quality) stereo

ahh thank you. Ive just had a couple large videos lately and trying to compress them below 500mb was getting hard. So thats mainly why i was wondering what everyone was using. I guess i always could upgrade to vimeo plus also.
