Viewfinder Does Not Show Focusing-Please Advise

My DVX100a is doing something new and troubling. I have it on AutoFocus. The LCD screen works fine but the viewfinder is completely blurry and doesn't change focus. When switched to manual focus the viewfinder view focuses a little but never comes into complete focus like the LCD screen.

Does anyone know what I may have done to cause this and what I should do to rectify the situation. Thank you.
 
There is a diopter controlled by a wheel on the side over the view finder housing. spin it as it may have come out of adjustment for your eyes.
 
Yep -- focus that diopter so that the on-screen text display is as sharp as you can get it, and that should solve your problem.
