Hi,

I'm new here so please help me out. I've got he HMC150 and shot my first wedding with it. Here is my problem, I can view the clips on my Mac (running Snow Leopard). All I get are little gray boxes that represent the clips but they are not viewable. I seem to only be able to transfer straight from the cam it self. What can you suggest and where do I find it?

I'm pretty sure that the newest version of VLC can playback AVCHD mts clips. Toast will also play them back as well.

I read over at dvinfo about a program moviest. Haven't tried it yet but Hear it works great. Going to try it myself tomorrow.

on slower Macs (old CoreDuo MacBooks or the Macbook Air) use Movist.
On my 4 year old MBP neither VLC nor the Panasonic AVCHD-Player could play back the recorded clips (.mts) without stutters.
Only Movist is doing the trick... great free programm...

Check this, as it is only a recollection, Panny recently released a viewer compatible with Snow Leopard. The older version was not.

I have a new problem...I seems that my files are somehow being recorded in a m2ts format which I don't recall ever seeing before nor do I remember changing any settings to cause this. Has anyone ever seen this before?...keep in mind that i'm shooting with a HMC150. I see this when looking at it throught AVCCAM Viewer.

Can you tell me if the m2ts format is normal or not? I don' t recall ever seeing it before and I am having trouble importing it.

You might want to look at Movist ( http://code.google.com/p/movist/ ) it works REALLY well for mts files (I use it to preview footage from an HF100 and HMC40), dare I say IMHO better then VLC (don't get me wrong I love VLC for other files, but I've had some trouble with playing back mts files with it.

I should note - I have NOTHING to do with the Movist project - I had learned about the software from another forum and have just really enjoyed using it for playing back AVCHD mts files.

What occurs when you use FCP's log and transfer function to transcode to pro res?
