When we were contacted by Eva De Roovere (a famous belgian singer) with the question if we could do a videoclip for her because her label (Universal) was going to release the second single on her Album, we were naturally excited.
When we were informed however that we had to deliver in 10 days, and there was little budget, we had to become rather creative to get things done.
To make matters worse was that we had to film a corporate movie in that period too, which ment we had only 4 days to shoot edit and deliver the product. And we had little budget, so only a very small crew.
It is here where the Canon 5D can really shine! Using only the 24-70mm and 100mm macro, a redrock micro rig and a the small but very handy 700rc manfrotto we were able to adapt a very guerilla style of shooting during the weekend in Antwerp (which meant a lot of very crowded and curious people). Added difficulty was that we did'nt have the actor and the actress on the same day. So alot of camera setups had to be exactly recreated the very next day.
The end result is a decent videoclip, nothing special. But sometimes delivering on time can be a special result in itself and can make a client very happy!
