The Professor
Thanks to Jan who was nice enough to take the time to let me record a few interviews. Here's the second interview on the HMC-80:

The first interview was of the AF-100:

This video was posted in the AF-100 section, but I see no harm in putting it here too.

There is a third video, that I still need to edit on the 3D camera, but that wil have to wait.

Thanks for posting Bob!

Nice to see DV as a feature. It's still so important these days.
I'd love to buy a couple of these for my classroom.

what's the starting price for this?
man
this cam looks sweet...
i love my HMC40 though this one looks mean.

i feel embarrassed when i take out my cam and they think it is a home use only consumer camera :P

I finished the last video to the series, the Panasonic 3D video camera:

The video was shot using the HMC40 and edited on Adobe Premier Elements 9 MAC Version.

Excellent vids Bob, thanks for all your hard work!

That HMC80 really is a HMC40++, a really nice affordable piece of kit. Not my scene (I want small!) but it looks great for the events-type people.

being that now this model is more aimed to the pro side, do you think they'll release FW updates for the HMC40?

Bob, what's you PC specs?
are you editing native avchd?

I'm using a MAC to edit and in all cases, I transcode the AVCHD to AIC (Apple Intermediate Codec) to edit. My iMAC uses a 2.4 GHZ dual core with 4 GB of RAM. When editing in AIC, the response time from the system is reasonable.

wait, bob, so MACs are not Personal Computers?
what's a mac then? (rhetorical question)
hehehehe
PC humor.

Jans my dream wife, Could you imagine having your morning coffee with your wife and be able to talk about cameras, and filmmaking with a spouse that actually cares and understands what your trying to explain. lol. That would be bliss. hehehe

I'm not sure how Jan would view that. After all, she has to deal with video cameras all day long, by night she must want to talk about anything else.

Well that was the attraction for Phil as well. And frankly it was very cool to have someone that understood what you were talking about over that morning cup of coffee.
