Video is to big but i dont have compressor

I dont have Compressor anymore . and i exported a 10 min movie in quicktime and the quicktime conversion is saying 3 mins then went to 3 hours and kept going up. is there an easier way

The "3 hours" will go down. It'll probably say that for an hour or so and then be finished. You can always export in full quality and then take that into iMovie and export again for a smaller size, or use a program like Sorenson Squeeze.

How is it that you do not have Compressor "any more?"

Is it no longer working properly?

What version of FCS do you have and what machine is running on?

the compressor just isnt working at all basically. and the file will end up being to big for youtube. i just need a way to get it on youtube.

im new to this no clue what that mean. everything works but compressor and it asking for the serial number and i put the right one in and it says its invalid . It used to work. I waited the 2 hours and the File is Still 4.7 gigs. all footage was shot with Panasonic HMC150 720 60fps. if there a suggested option when exporting this footage.

How did you install FCP on the 17 inch MacBook Pro?

Did you use the original discs to install it? This is important to understand the issues you are having.

I had the same issue one (compressor didn't install properly, but I needed Final Cut enough that I did without). It happens.

You can export straight out of fcp.

- Go to File-->Export-->QuickTime Move...
- check the box "Make Movie Self-Contained",
- and then in the "Setting" column select "Custom..." on the bottom.

Change the settings (I recomend h.264) that should give you a file small enough for youtube to upload.
