Video: Introducing the Odyssey7

Sweet. I have been searching, and there is, somehow, just not much info on these throughout the web.
Well it was just released last month.

Much of the imformation available out there is on the Odyssey7Q. There are a number of key feature differences, but then there are a great deal of similarities. You can use info on the Odyssey7Q to tell you a lot about the Odyssey7.

And feel free to ask me any questions you have.

Sorry, i meant anecdotal/personal experience info. Ive read a lot of stuff about the q version, just not a lot of personal reports.

Q1: After recording & removal of the SSD - then mounting that SSD to a Mac OS,
will the SSD have to be re-formatted?

Q2: Are the internal LUT's 1d or 3d?
As an example - for Sony F3 S-log - is the LUT better than the internal 800%

When removing the SSD from the Odyssey, there is a quick and simple (and necessary) Safe Eject procedure. This finalizes the directory system on the drive, making the files properly visible to your computer. You can download the files directly or we offer a free simple utility program for downloading the files. The utility is a download from our website and is recommended to speed up the post procedures. Then dismount the drive from the computer and reinsert it into the Odyssey, where it then should be reformatted. Do not try to reformat it on your computer or it may become an issue on the Odyssey.

Internal LUTs are both 1D and 3D, depending on camera manufacturer.I'm not sure I understand what you're asking in the second part of the second question.

Thank you for your answers. To elaborate on Q1.
say I need to view a recorded clip on a computer- then re-insert the ssd drive to the
Odyssey - can I continue recording or is a re-format a must?
AFA Q2 - the F3 Sony LUT is 1D & contrast only.
Is your F3 LUT 3D (contrast & saturation)?

For Q1, it is possible but not recommended. This is your master footage. You can review it on the Odyssey7 or send it out via HDMI and/or SDI to another monitor for further review. If you need to load footage into a computer for evaluation (perhaps to judge a greenscreen comp.?), then I would suggest downloading the SSD at that time, which should only take a few minutes, and then reformatting the SSD when you reload it into the Odyssey, which should only take a few seconds. While one could do as you describe, I would never suggest anyone put master footage at risk, and the more you transport around such footage the more you put it at risk.

For the F3 LUT, I will need to check with our engineers.
