Version display post hack

another big thing that you (or anyone) should notice if the hack is successful: all your menu settings revert to default settings. not sure why this hasn't been mentioned, but if you changed a bunch of your menu settings when you got the camera before doing the hack, you'll notice all the factory defaults (like AF assist, no histogram.....all the stuff, you'll have to go thru the menu and reset) hope that helps.
 
you didn't notice the "version up" taking a bit of a long time?...hmm. well, mine did, as i performed my most recent update according to user Mattinstl's video walk thru. i did the hack a few times previously, but wasn't seeing a difference, but then i applied Matt's settings, and it reset everything in the menu. i have version 0.0 (1.39, as i'ved changed things)....using SplashLite plater, i'm seeing the bitrates as they should be....so what gives? haha
 
quite odd, version up and update time seems normal on my end, and all my settings remain the same. I did a mega test session a couple days ago updating about 15times and everything remained the same. Not sure what matt is doing differently though I can't imagine it to be any different to what I am doing. its straight forward.

did your final successful update replace your old v1.2 firmware by any chance? that may have rested things if it was a proper upgrade from an older firmware though i dont remember it resetting when I did that either.
