I'm borrowing a HMC150 from a friend (looking to buy one when i have the money) and I've been editing with vegas pro 9 demo. This camera is AMAZING, editing raw avchd from the camera works fine, especially at 720/30p with playback set to "preview/half". However, the playback gets very stuttery in the first 3 seconds of every clip and then smooths out to full speed. It's not a buffer issue since I can start playback midway through the clip at full speed.
Also, I've only read one suggestion so far for dealing with the fact that 720/30p footage is stored in a 60p stream and that was to "disable resample" on the clips, but i can't see that it makes any difference.
I know my system is not ideal for editing the raw clips, but i'd like to avoid transcoding:
Sony Vegas Pro 9 64-bit Demo (I own 8 Pro)
Windows 7 RC1 64-Bit
HP Pavillion dv9500t Laptop
Core 2 Duo t7300 @ 2.0ghz
4gb ddr2 667 memory
120gb system drive (7200rpm)
160gb data drive (5400rpm)
320gb fw400 external drive
