Variable frame rates of HVX200

Wow, I have thought all along that it was shot on the f900, now I have to go back and figure out where I got that crazy idea. Maybe I am thinking of "Once upon a time in Mexico?" Hmmm.

Best,

Jan

Yeah it was once upon a time in mexico.. he said he shot 60i and exported each field to targa files with one field per targa file and ended up with 60 frames for slow motion though... soemthing like that.... but it was once upon a time in mexico shot on the 900.

I think it should be a requirement that the first footage any new HVX user shoots is a cliche "Walking away from an explosion" scene. Maybe we can have a 15-30 second short festival consisting of the best ones.

I will be sure to come dressed in my ninja costume along with some smoke bombs in order to make out with that HVX! I wish. =)

No, he shot it that way in-camera.

Sorry Barry, I when I read it I thought you were talking about Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

I saw the docu on El Mariachi where he talks about the speed he shot at.

When I read your answer, I was thinking that the HDCAM was also Variable Frame Rate.

The CineAlta HDCAM has a couple of different frame rates, being basically 24p, 25p, 30p, 50i and 60i.

El Mariachi is - as far as I know - filmed with 21fps (on an Arriflex) and not with 12fps
