So, I've recently bought a T2i (with the Kit Lens) and a Sigma 30mm 1.4. I also plan to buy some more relatively nice lenses in the months to come. I will only be using this camera/lenses for video shooting. Should I immediately also buy UV filters for these lenses simply to protect my investment(s). Is there a down side to shooting video on a DSLR with a UV protector on the lens? I also found this protector that doesn't seem to have any effect on the image. This would be desirable if it's indeed true:
