UV filter

i got a b&w 72mm filter... it will run ya like 80 bucks but its quality glass.
think of it this way, you wouldnt want all your quality being reduced because of a cheap filter.

Amen. What's the point of buying a high-def camera and then forcing it to view the world through a cheap filter? Get the very best you can possibly get, if you must have one at all.

I got a Heliopan 72mm for my DVX100B and it's great! Like B&W, Heliopan uses high quality glass as well.

That's the one I have. It doesn't really do anything to the footage as far I can could tell, but I'm considering taking it off and shooting without.

thats the other alt. to the one i bought in the camera store... (i bought the b&w brand).
the guy told me that the glass on the tiffen is just normal glass... and the b&w is german glass, similar to the glass used for the canon optics. ( i dont know much about glass and lens though, im just repeating what he told me.)

I would pop the few extra bucks and buy something a little more expensive, but thats just my thoughts.

good luck!

Tiffen is absolute garbage for me. I get weird circular reflections of the filter when the sun hits it in certain angles. Really bad and ruins the shot completely

I might try that B&W one
