I'm looking at way to stream my GH2. I've been looking at the Livestream broadcaster and the Teradek VidiU. Will either of these solutions work with the GH2's HDMi 1080i 60i output? Any help or alternate suggestions are welcome.

We use the BMD ATEM TVS successfully for switching multiple GH2's via HDMI and HDMI to SDI BMD battery converters. Works really really well with Livestream's Procaster platform.

Do you need audio? The GH2 doesn't output audio via HDMI. Since there is no headphone jack I don't think you can get any live audio out of the camera. The GH3 is another story. Full HDMI with audio although I have had some odd issues with audio sync. We are still working on the software side however and have the same issues even with a HD-SDI camera.

I just bought this and it works great:

There is a 3.5mm audio jack that would for for your GH2.

I'm glad to report the LiveStream Broadcaster worked really well for me on Saturday.

Outside for the ceremony, 4G worked well for a "medium" quality broadcast.
Indoors, I lost 4G so I had to bump the quality down to "mobile" quality. If I had access to a wifi signal, it probably would have been better, but the venue didn't have one.
I was very pleased with the ease of use with the Live-Stream box. I had 14 people tuning into the ceremony including family/friends in Germany, Florida, and LA.
I was told that a 90 year old couple was able to tune in and watch without assistance...very user friendly.

I'm trying to accomplish two goals with the GH2. One would be live streaming of a high school football. Wide shot basically the whole game. 2nd would be for wedding ceremonies.

I'm glad to know the Livestream broadcaster worked for you Iancreations. So with the broadcaster, I can stream a 1080i 60i signal from the gh2 to Livestream? What did you use do for audio out of the GH2? I read on personal-view that if you had a H4N recorder, hook that into the streaming device and then you can get synced audio and video.

4G really may be the best option. Keep in mind most Internet connections where you could have had WiFi would have seriously limited upload speeds. Like 768kbps sometimes. Business class connections may have higher upload bandwidth but it may still be seriously limited to upload bandwidth. 4G while unpredictable offers a very high upload speed even sometimes matching that of its download speed. Getting some kind of antennae booster to keep your 4G signal as solid as possible may be a better option.

I think 4G will be my best option also. Now I just need to figure out the audio part. So the GH2 doesn't output audio with HDMI? Just set up a external recorder, say H4N and hook that into the Livestream Broadcaster?
