using the AC power supply on 100B [??]

We are having problems using AC power with our new 100B. The power supply is receiving the current but the camera is not. We are using the AC port in the battery area with no luck.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you may be hooked up backwards... the plug goes into the power adapter, and the batterylike end of the cable attaches to the DVX like a battery would. Sounds like you may have put the battery-ish end ont the adapter/charger, and the plug into the DVX...

Thank you. This was the problem. I think we are ready to do our first shoot with the camera now. Nice of you all to reply.

Cheers

Just for the record... I've always thought it was a fairly bad design move to allow things to be hooked up both ways like that! But most of the prosumer cams seem to work that way...

Just a little piece of advice with AC adaptors: Sure, you get unlimited power supply vs. a battery, but you've just created another cable with an electrical charge running through it, which can potentially be a problem if you're hardwired for sound.

For instance, you have the AC adaptor plugged into the camera, and someone is booming with an XLR cable running into the camera. There's the potential for a buzz or hum in the audio if the XLR cable is resting on the power cable. Doesn't always happen, but be careful!

Of course, wireless is always an option.
