Re: Using sony miniDV CAM tapes
On my previous DVX i had used nothing but SONY PDVM-40N DVCAM tapes. I had about 60 hours on the camra and can truthfully say i never expirienced an audio dropout. Now thats my problem- with all this info about how people with MQ tapes expirience audio dropouts (both cleaning heads and not) i am reluctant to switch. I just got a replacment DVX with 15hours on it from panasonic (long story, but they are very nice at panasonic head office) and am unsure what type of tape to feed it. I know MQ's make you heads last longer but im not willing to go that route if i get continuous audio dropouts.
SO, my question to everyone, or people that are using the MQ's- On average how many audio dropouts do you encounter per tape?
