Has anybody tried using really old minolta lens?

I have a rokkor 50mf1.7 from 1977.(standard kit lens with srt 202)
and a vivitar 200mm zoom from the same year(minolta mount)

has anyone tried a lens like this? What adapter did you use?

Are there any issues with these lens on the af100?

I'm trying to figure out if it's worth buying an adapter. I know it's not alot of money but I don't want to just throw money away if those lens can't give at least a pretty good image on the af100.

What did they look like on the original camera?

Gives you a clue about their image quality and characteristics that wont change on an AF100.

I'm uskg a rokkor 50mm 1.4 that's even older than yours I think. It looks pretty nice and the focus ring has a long throw and nice feel. I'm using a cheap rainbow imaging adapter. The lens is soft at 1.4 but stopped down to f2 it is much sharper. I'm actually still undecided if it looks better than a newer Minolta 50mm AF. The AF has a terrible focus ring which is why I've stuck with the rokkor. But it certainly works and testing it on a stills camera would be a good test as well.

Rokkor X MD 1.4 (49 filter) is one of the sharpest lenses I have ever used. I compared it to my 50mm AF version, and the 50mm was a tiny bit sharper dead center, but the Rokkor had slightly better edge sharpness. The difference was so slight as to be sample variation.

I've got a variety of Minolta Rokkors, and I use the same Rainbow Imaging adapter. They've definitely got their own look. I have fun with them. Granted, I'm using them on a GH2. One of these days I'll afford an af100.
