I have a Manfrotto 503 tripod which I use for my 16mm camera. The tripod is very cumbersome and heavy.
I'm broke after buying the 7D and some lenses, but I was thinking about picking up a pair of Manfrotto 190 XB legs which says it supports up to 11 lbs. I believe the camera, lens and 503 fluid head would come in at around 8 to 9 lbs (under the limit).
The 503 is a medium sized fluid head, and probably not ideal for the 190xb legs. But technically it would fit fine. With that said, have you guys used a larger fluid head on a smaller pair of legs?
Would you guys recommend something like this? Or will it be precarious?
