Using HV20 as a primary deck for the A1...

Im thinking of gettting the HV20 as a deck...how have you guys like it? what are the pro and cons?

I tried capturing A1 PAL HDV 50i via the HV20 > HDV set to output DV, into Vegas. It sucked, capture HDV works. Cheers.

Why not just pick up a Canon Firestore, the 60gb version, and just go all digital?

I dont know what Raster is talking about it works fine as a deck whether it be hdv, dv or downconverting hd to sd.

I use one to capture from a Canon A1 and a Sony FX1.

I've used the HV20 to do all our capturing for Standing Firm. It makes a great deck, and also is very useful for a Behind the Scenes camera because it shoots in 1080 24p just like the A1 so I can mix the footage with pieces of the film and not have problems. I'm really glad I bought it, nice little camera.
