Using filters with a wide angle or anamorphic lens? How?

I am going to be purchasing a dvx soon and was wondering how to use filters (uv and polarizer) with a wide angle and/or anamorphic lens. I have heard that with a wide angle, the filters should go on the front and should not be placed between the wide angle and the camera. Is this true? and if so why?

As for anamorphic, I have no idea how this works. Should the filters go between the lens and the camera or what?

Use a mattebox.

With a wide angle adapter you can just put them between the lens and the adapter. don't put more then two at a time or else you'll experance vignetting. THere is a way to do it with the anamorphic adapter, reed barrys book to find out.
