Using Dual adapter to download P2 cards to mac book pro

I have a HVX 200 and am planning on getting a new mac laptop, with a view to using the Dual Adapter to download material from the P2 cards to the internal drive on the laptop. Does anyone have experience with this work flow? I need a laptop for other purposes and hoped it would be a good solution for my HVX workflow without having to also invest in the firestore or other P2 reader device.

there are numerous topics on this subject, but its a fine workflow. offloads are real quick. and the current model of the MBP can easilly handle the footage in post.
 
Nice workflow, no problem until now, download about 2 gig/min in MBP or to Glyph hardrive dual. I use P2CMS and Raylight for viewing and transfer to FCP. Don't forget to write protect your card before dowloading with Duel Adapter if you don't want any problem.
 
I like it, just don't understand why they have to make the darn thing so big. Why does it need a cable? If you are gonna keep the cable, can you at least make it bend. And the face plate is massive. So much for keeping it compact, to fit in your laptop bag nicely. Hope there is a redesign in the works to make it smaller.

Other than that, it works good.
