Using Computer Monitor with GH2 HDMI Out

I will be purchasing a small monitor (7") at some point to use with my GH2. Before then though, I plan on using my GH2 on several shoots that require a larger sized monitor. I am likely just going to rent something for my next few shoots, but thought of the option of using my computer monitor to monitor the video signal from the GH2. Can someone tell me if this is possible? I have a couple of nice Samsung 24" computer monitors with DVI in..

I know I can purchase a micro HDMI to DVI converter, but does anyone know if this will actually work?

Yes, it work!
Tomorrow i have another field work for a tv spot and have a nice 23" Sony LCD screen, i make my shot normally with my GH13, then I show the customer on the 23" monitor, using a mini HDMI to DVI cable.
When i have the GH2 i gonna invest on the Teradel Cube.

Cheers

I just tested it with the GH2 and a DVI to HDMI cable. No, it does not work for live monitoring. However, it does work for playback. If you want live monitoring with the GH2, your monitor must have an HDMI input. DVI doesn't work.

It must have some way of sensing if it is connected or not.

Indeed it does. Normally when the GH2 has an HDMI cable plugged into it, 720 60P is grayed out and unavailable. But 720 60P is available with the HDMI to DVI cable. Only problem, no picture at the other end!

what about HDCP?!? we have the same problem with a european model... but i am not sure if hdcp is really implemented - just a guess...
