I have a job coming up and I want to use a slider.
Is there any lens range that works better for movement and should I keep the IS on while shooting on the slider?
I wouldn't use IS on a slider. Its very fluid so no need. Wide to 85mm will work fine. Longer lenses can work but the effect is diminished. Slides are more powerful with foreground. The beefier the slider the less bounce you will get and allow you to use longer lenses with better results. Dana dolly is that beefier slider.
I use mine all the time, anywhere from 28mm up to 200mm so far. Cinevate Atlas 10 - haven't had any issues at all, its a pretty heavy slider.
Definitely easier at 28mm vs 200mm, so I'd say aim for the closer end when possible.
My Zeiss 28 has no IS and i've gotten great results with it.
for best results, be sure to balance it properly, just as you would on your tripod. even if it's locked off, having the COG over the center of the slider will give the most ideal results.
