Using Blooms Raw-ish profile settings. what next?

so I'm basically using blooms profile settins (pulling the contrast and sharpness all the way back and saturation back a few) which he claims gives you better latitude in post.

truthfully though im not sure. seems to me that splitting the difference gets you the best stuff. at the very least i feel like shooting with a little contrast and sharpness helps provide a richer image (even if you are toying with color correction in post)
thoughts?

AND, if you are using these completely unsharpened, uncontrasted images what are you doing in post to then get the rich, sharp image you ultimately want? crushing blacks in 3 way color corector?? sharpening tools? magic bullet???

I believe the poster is referring to the "Stu Settings", from prolost blog.

basically bloom and many others have recommended going into the cameras profile setting and taking the contrast and sharpness down as much as possible and the saturation down one as well, thus leaving more options in post.
